Why run retrospectives at all?
A retrospective is a short, recurring meeting where a team looks back at how they worked — not just what they shipped — and agrees on one or two concrete improvements. Done well, it’s the highest-leverage hour on the calendar: small course corrections, made every sprint, compound into a dramatically better team.
The catch is that retros live or die on facilitation. If the loudest person sets the agenda, or action items evaporate, people stop believing in the ritual. Retroboard is built around the habits that keep retros honest: silent parallel writing, anonymous mode, dot-voting to set the agenda, a visible timer, and exports so decisions don’t get lost.
New to facilitating? Our blog covers formats, remote retros and how to run sessions your team won’t dread.

Frequently asked questions
Yes — Retroboard is completely free while in beta. Paid plans may come later for advanced team features, and we’ll give plenty of notice before anything changes.
No. Anyone can join a board as a guest with just their name. Guests can add cards, vote and comment — and can upgrade to a full account later without losing anything.
Yes. Cards, votes, comments, moves and timers sync over websockets, so everyone sees the same board at the same instant — no refreshing.
Boards are private by default: only people you invite or your team members can open them. You can make a board public so anyone signed in with the link can participate.
Always. Export any board to CSV, Excel, PDF, Word, PNG or straight to your clipboard as Markdown.
Sign-in is handled by Google Firebase Authentication; everything else lives in our PostgreSQL database, encrypted in transit and at rest. See the Security page for details.
